I am researching an Ida WALKER that married a Victory C KEMP in Fayette Co, WV on April 02, 1893. Ida would later marry Henry P ADKINS about 1903. I believe that Ida died between 1940-1950 but don't know where or when for sure. I would be interested in any assistance you could provide. Does the book have an ISBN?? I was wondering if anyone could tell me about a house I read about recently. In a book entitled, A Pictorial Guide to West Virginia's Civil War Sites, I came across a picture with a caption that read "Walker Homestead, on country Route 11, about three miles southeast of Lookout, off U.S. 60. This house, which is on the original James River and Kanawha Turnpike, was used as a headquarters by both Federal and Confederate troops in 1861. It is now abandoned." Does anybody know anything about this house? Which Walkers lived there? Thanks for any information!
