Hello, all: I know there are some Coleman descendants on here. I'm in contact with a researcher on some other lines and he mentioned today being related to Colemans (which I'm not). Here is his lineage: Thomas Estil Coleman was born in 1889. He died in Kankakee, Illinois in 1976. Thomas left Fayette County as a young man. My G-Grandfather Thomas Coleman (1848-1929) was born in Reedsville (near Long Bottom), Meigs County, Ohio. His farm was up Mulberry. His father was Samuel Coleman (1809-1867). Samuel's Father was John Coleman Jr., (1780-1843) from Long Bottom, Meigs County, Ohio. John Jr's. Father was John Coleman of Wood County, (West) Virginia (1760-?). John Coleman was the son of Michael Coleman. Michael was alleged to have been born in Scotland (1740) and came to this country with his parents. Michael came to Ft. Belleville, (West) Virginia from Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Michael was killed by Shawnee Indians while on a meat gathering expedition at Cottageville, Mason County, (West) Virginia in 1793. If this sounds familiar to anyone, please write me privately at [email protected] and I'll put you in touch with this researcher. He would like to hear from others working on his Coleman line. Best wishes, June
