Mike, I think I spoke to you before, I have been collecting pictures such as you have mention of this area, do you mind sending me a copy of the scanned picture. My dad was driving the work bus for the coal miners down in that area at the time of that train wreck, he had to haul all of the dead bodies and the ones that were injured to the hospital. for years he said he would lay his head on the pillow at night and try to go to sleep , but all he could do was see all of those people & the condition of the bodies. I don't think it ever left his mind. I also went up and seen the sign with the names and wondered why there hadn't been something put up by even the UMW , I am really surprised, maybe know one has tried. My great grandfather was one of the casualties, (and I even have a picture of the train after the mishap) I am sure that anyone who is from the Deepwater area has heard of this. If the proprietors of the list would like I could scan the picture and the list of the men involved and send them to be published on the site. I would really like to extend my deepest gratitude to whomever created the slate marker near the site.
