Hi, Cathy: Now I'd really like to find the other list of Nicholas Co. marriages I have. The short one I found (which does not list parents) doesn't even include the marriage of Robert Hughes and Nancy Sims. The 1860 census I have is transcribed. You may wish to try to find a microfilm copy of this, so that you can get all the information from the following household: #731 SIMS, James 47 Farmer Elizabeth 47 Nancy 22 Day Labor Amanda ? Day Labor Charles 16 William A. 13 Minerva 11 B. F. (m) 8 G. W. (m) 6 In the 1870 census, household #219 Falls of Kanawha (in other words, right next door to #220 Robert Hughes and Lizzie Dempsey), there is: Sims, James J. 54 Farmer Elizabeth 55 Benjamin 18 George W. 16 A. Dixon (m) 8 So, if this is the right Sims family, in 1860 where was Robert and 3YO George?? What an interesting mystery!
