"Hick" was my great-Uncle and was married for many years to Mary Ann Martin, daughter of Pearl Beckett and Walter Franklin Martin of Glasgow, Kanawha Co., WV. Mary Ann was a sister to my grandmother, Violet I. Martin McGrew.*** Harold Robert Higginbotham, 90, of Dunbar, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at Thomas Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was a retired foreman with Union Carbide and was a World War II Navy Veteran. Mr. Higginbotham was a member of the Dunbar Masonic Lodge No. 159 and the Beni Kedem Shrine. He had been a 60-year resident of Dunbar. Surviving are his nephew, Walter G. Martin of Poca; niece, Viola Ann Culler of Chester, W.Va.; sisters, Clara Reedy of Albany, Ohio, Mildred Jeffers of Dexter, Ohio, and Naomi Glassburn of Bidwell, Ohio. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor John A. Mason officiating. Burial with Masonic graveside rites will be in Grandview Memorial Park.
