    3. Could the entry for the adopted daughter "Eualis" be read as "Eulalia"? I have a Spanish friend of that name, and there is a Catholic saint by that name as well. St. Eulalia was from Barcelona and a Spanish martyr in the persecution of Diocletian (12 February 304), patron of the cathedral and city of Barcelona, also of sailors. Roy and Eualis? are listed as A.SON and A.DAUGHTER. I believe this refers to them as being Adopted son and Adopted daughter. TJ ==== WVFAYETT Mailing List ==== Need help? Have questions? 3. Hello, Cousin David (and all): Eulalia was a very popular name in the U.S. during the early part of the 20th century. I don't know what brought on its popularity or its decline. At first I thought the girl Vieve might have been a nickname for "Genevieve", but looking at the spelling in the 1910 census, Vievia, I think it may have been pronounced "Vi-ee-va", which was a name I remember some older women and one of my classmates had when I was growing up "down on the creek" (Loup Creek).
