Lynn, So nice to hear about your successful trip to Fayette County. Elijah WOOD, who sold the land to your John TOWNSEND, was my 3rd great-grandfather. Do you have a transcript of this land deed or a copy of the original? I have seen reference to this transaction in the "History of Fayette County West Virginia 1993" pg. 89 but do not have details other than that it was in 1841. Thank you, Cathy great-granddaughter of William Henderson DEMPSEY, who was the son of William A. DEMPSEY and Sarah Ann WOOD, who was the daughter of Elijah WOOD and Rachel HONAKER > -----Original Message----- > From: Alan & Lynn Hudson [mailto:[email protected]] > Sent: Sunday, January 27, 2002 9:15 AM > To: [email protected] > Subject: [WVFAYETT] I'm Back . . . > > > Hi to Fayette County; > I'm back now, but actually I have been back since the 1st of > Nov.
