Hi Listers, With the help of many other Sims descendants I gathered documentation that enabled me to write a biography for my 5th great-grandfather, James Sims of Nicholas County, (West) Virginia. Most of James' children lived in the Kanawha, Nicholas and Fayette counties and married into the families of the area including: Windsor, Johnson, Hughes, Hunter, Neal, Fowler, Stanley, Foster, Settle, Darlington, Summers, and Bays. The next generation married into the following families: Cochran, Backus, Murphy, Kelly, Light, Kincaid, Jarrett, Montgomery, Jones, Sprinkle, Tucker, Underwood, Gilliland, Walker, Huddleston, Ingram, Miller, Huffman, Samuels, Martin, Hall, Dempsey, Steele, Wood, Arthur, Blake, Whalen, Morris, Nichols, Hedrick, Smailes, Straughan, Carper, McCarty, Beirne, as well as many of the families mentioned for the first generation.
