Becky, Allen and Maria Sims may be the couple found in the 1860 census with Joseph Sims: HH 688. Joseph Sims, 61, farmer A.H. (m), 33, farmer Mary C., 22, wife David S., 2 Do you have an age for Allen Sims at the time of his marriage? Was he born after the 1860 census? I have someone who is going to send me 1870 and 1880 census info on the Sims as time permits. This is the first time that Joseph shows up in the FayCo census (I've been checking all Sims in Kanawha, Nicholas, and Fayette from 1810-1860). He may have come from Greenbrier Co. There was a Joseph in Greenbrier in 1830, 1840, & 1850. I don't have the Greenbrier figures. He may be a brother/relative of Edward Sims who is seen in Greenbrier in 1820 & 1830 and then in Fayette Co. in 1840 & 1850. Edward was listed twice in 1850, in his own household in Fayette and in the household of his son-in-law Lilburn Sims in Kanawha. He may have died prior to the 1860 census. I have not connected Edward and Joseph Sims to the James Sims line of Nicholas County. Edward's son-in-law Lilburn however is believed to be a son of John Sims (s/o James) and Mildred Hunter. I haven't tried to get any information on Edward and Joseph. If you come across any more Sims please let me know. Hope this may help you.
