Hugh, I started something with my original mail asking about James Kincaid and when he settled on the Loup. Since I mentioned Darlington's book it got others off on other subjects. E-mails have been flying since then and listers have forgotten to change the subject line to reflect the content of their mail. I am also not very experienced with these lists. I am on several, none of them as busy as Fayette County's, some go for weeks without a single message. One of them had the following message: A gentle reminder: please type in a descriptive subject line for every message you post to this list. And if it's about a specific individual, please use this format: for example, "Johann RUPP 1824-1878 GER>NY>IA". Now getting back to my original subject and your subject: Do you know when James Kincaid settled on Loup/Loop Creek? Could it have been sometime around 1811?
