Hello June, I have Frances Asbury Settle married to Lucinda Treadway in Fayette county on September 16, 1867. Was he married again to Manerva Boatwright? I only have John S. and Rebecca as their (FA/LT) children, as they are named as parents in their childrens marriage record. Can you give additional information? Thanks TJ

Alas, again the tangled web of Settle's rears its ugly head! <G> Francis Asbury "Berry" Settle who married Lucinda "Luck" Treadway was the son of Joel Dixon Settle Sr. He was named for his uncle Francis Asbury Settle, brother of Joel. Brothers Joel Dixon and Francis Asbury (who married Minerva Boatwright) were sons of Abner Settle and Nancy Pinnel. Terry, You may already have this information, but if not, here it is. Lucinda F. Treadway, born 1851 Fayette County, WV married Francis Asbury Settle 16 Sep 1867, as shown in "Children of Jesse" by Vera Thompson Treadway. Lucinda's parents were William Treadway, son of Jesse and Mahala Johnson, and Nancy Bibb, daughter of Levi Bibb and Lucinda Clements. Lucinda and Francis Settle had the following children: John S b 1870; Icey B b 1874; Rebecca A b 1878; William H b 1884; Walter, b 1885; and Thomas E b 1886.
