    2. Hi List- I found a whole series of books in the genealogy section of ourt local library that might be of interest. Each book is a death index for years 1860, 1870, 1880, and 1890 (I am not positive on this last one but I think I saw it there on the shelf). Apparently most states put this together and the WV one was published in 1979. For each person it lists their name, county of death, state of birth, age at death, month and cause of death, as well as profession. The profession is listed by code and there are over three hundred different codes that are pretty specific. This was the first time I had seen anything like this for an entire state and I thought that other people might be interested. If you have someone who died in West Virginia in one of those four years, it might be of interest to you.
