Hi, Sherranlynn: I don't know where Jackson McDonald Ewing and Sarah Adkins were married (I don't find them in the Fayette Co. marriage records), but could this be it: 1860 Census #869. ADKINS, Isom, 30 Farm Labor Virginia 20 Bug 8 Sarah 6 Rebecca 5 Lewvicy (f) 3 In the marriage record of Rebecca, the mother is listed as "Jincy". I take this to be a nickname for Virginia, and these people probably spoke with an accent so thick you could cut it with a knife. <G> Alright, now in the Fayette Co. marriage records I find: McUne, Jakson md. Sarah Atkins January 12, 1874 race w age: n/a, 21 marital status: s,s born: Fayette Co., WV; Fayette Co., WV parents: Ruth Bennett, Isam & Jenero What do you think? Have you found any of these people in the 1870 census? I will check on Isom and Virginia after dinner. Best wishes, June "Custom will reconcile people to any atrocity."
