    1. [WVFAYETT] Where to begin?
    2. Lisa Wilson
    3. I am getting married next year, and I have become very interested in my Family history. I am new to this, so any advice would be most helpful. I have started with me and have gone back to my Paternal Grandmother, from there I need some help. :-) I was born in Fayette County and my families are from that beautiful part of the country. So anything I can find will be appreciated. Thank you, Lisa

    3. Hi, Lisa: Who is (was) your paternal grandmother? What about your maternal side? I think you may find a lot of help on this list. A lot of us come from families that have been in that part of the country since it was wilderness in the late 1700's. Best wishes, June At 08:41 PM 7/30/2001 -0400, you wrote: >I am getting married next year, and I have become very interested in my Family history. >I am new to this, so any advice would be most helpful. 3. My Grandmother still lives in Victor, Her maiden name was Willis-daughter of Burdine Willis I have his Social security number, but how can I use it?) and Amie Evans. Grandpa was Henry Wilson, not much is known about his background. (Deceased) My Maternal grandparents moved to Fayette County from Kentucky and followed coalmines from the 40's until the late 60's. They were Cecil Blair and Gussie Ward.(Both deceased.) I have tried to find some sites on the internet that might be helpful, but not much luck so far. Does Fayette county have some of their records available online? Thank you for the reply, Lisa Wilson

    3. Hi, Could someone please do a look-up for me on the 1920 census for a Permellia Pennington? She would have been born ca1914 and went by the nickname Dessie. She would probably be in either Fayette or Kanawha Co. Thanks!! June

    1. [WVFAYETT] Malissa Noble
    2. June & Marco
    3. Hi, I would like to correspond with anyone who is a descendant of or has information on the descendants of Benjamin Noble (ca1801-after 1880) and Catharine Hurt (ca1806-after 1880). Their daughter Malissa Noble (born ca1848-died after 1880) married William James, Dec 20 1874, Fayette Co. WV. William was born in Franklin Co. VA ca1856, died May 1879 in Fayette Co. WV. Children: Mary b ca1875, Elias b ca1877. In 1880 Malissa, now widowed, and her 2 children are living with her parents. I have no record of them after this. William James' death was reported by Floyd James (my g-g grandfather) who is listed as "relative". Any leads appreciated.
