Thanks Ethel, Have discovered that William was the son of Mason and Dorcas Buster Coleman. Not sure but I believe Mason was the son of James and Nancy ? Coleman. So now, I am unsure as to what line James descends . Perhaps someone on the list might know the answer to this?? Thanks! Hi! I was wondering if anyone could tell me about a house I read about recently. In a book entitled, A Pictorial Guide to West Virginia's Civil War Sites, I came across a picture with a caption that read "Walker Homestead, on country Route 11, about three miles southeast of Lookout, off U.S. 60. This house, which is on the original James River and Kanawha Turnpike, was used as a headquarters by both Federal and Confederate troops in 1861. It is now abandoned." Does anybody know anything about this house? Which Walkers lived there? Thanks for any information! Susan Lindsay
I am researching an Ida WALKER that married a Victory C KEMP in Fayette Co, WV on April 02, 1893. Ida would later marry Henry P ADKINS about 1903. I believe that Ida died between 1940-1950 but don't know where or when for sure. I would be interested in any assistance you could provide. Does the book have an ISBN?? Hi,Carol: A quick hit here before I head out the door: A current line of thought is that John Jenkins m. Mary Elizabeth Huddleston in Bedford Co., VA. After Mary Elizabeth died, he married Jane McGeorge. William h2 did have a daughter called "Polly". Polly, as we know, was often a nickname for Mary. However, "Polly"'s data says she was born 1778, died in 1855, unmarried, and that she went to Oregon Co., Missouri. Given that Mary Elizabeth married John Jenkins in 1778, wouldn't you think her birth would be ca1757-1762? Your family oral history is that Mary Elizabeth Huddleston was a daughter of a William III, is that correct?
