    1. [WVFAYETT] Searching for Sarah Bryant's death
    2. Edythe98 via
    3. Sarah Bryant was last found on 1930 census in Fayette Co., Fayettesville living with one of her daughters but I am unable to find her death or burial. 1930 Fayette Co., WV, Fayettesville Susie D. Conley - age 46, widow, b WV, parents WV [she and parents were born in VA] ** Sarah Bryant - mother, age 84, b VA, parents VA Cecil Conley - son, 19, b WV Carl Conley - son, 12, b WV Evelyn Conley - dau, 12, b WV Sarah Margaret Bryant was born Feb 1845 in Nelson Co., VA to Joshua B. Allen and Mary Campbell. She first married Martin Henry Lotts in Feb 1862 in Nelson Co., VA. Martin Lotts was a criminal and it is assumed he died or disappeared by Oct 1895. Sarah then married Samuel Bryant in Oct 1895 in Augusta Co., VA. Samuel and Sarah were last together on 1910 census in Alleghany Co., VA. Sarah then shows up on 1920 census in Fayette Co., WV living with daughter and son-in-law, Tillman and Mary Hite. Then Sarah on the above 1930 census. The WV State website has no record for Sarah's death. Nor can I find her on Find-a-Grave. Ancestry and FamilySearch no record of her death either. Could someone check cemetery publications for Fayette County if there are any for Sarah Margaret Bryant? Thank you, Shirley Houk Uniontown, OH

    1. [WVFAYETT] Need help on Sarah Emma Homer
    2. Edythe98 via
    3. Although Sarah E. Homer died 22 Sep 1926 in Cabin Creek District, Kanawha Co., WV, she lived in Fayette County on 1910 and 1920 census. Her death record shows she is buried in Notomine which I presume is in Kanawha County - no record on Find-a-Grave. 1910 Fayette Co., WV, Fayettesville Harry Homer - 32, married once/married 8 yrs, b PA, parents VA, laborer/coal mine Sarah E - wife, 42, married twice/married 8 yrs, b MD, parents VA (she was actually born in Augusta Co., VA) Millie Lots - step-dau, 21, b VA, father VA, mother MD Hattie Homer - dau, 13, b VA, father VA, mother MD 1920 Fayette Co., WV, Fayettesville Sarah E. Homer - 64, widow, b MD, parents VA, occupation - boarding house Hattie Warren - dau, 23, married, b VA, father TX [sic], mother MD Anderson? Ewart? - gr-son, 2y3m, b VA, father TX, mother VA Amos Holden - boarder I have not found Harry Homer's death. No record on WV State website or Find-a-Grave. No record on Ancestry's Military. Nor have I found marriage of Harry and Sarah. Informant on Sarah's death record was Geo. Massey of Wevaco, WV (appears to be not related via my research). Sarah's parents were Martin Henry Lotts and Sarah Margaret Allen. Sarah's first marriage was to George Coffey of VA; he has disappeared. My problem is I cannot find any of the people who were on the 1910 or 1920 censuses after 1920 nor prior. I have not found Hattie Homer's marriage to a Warren. Nor can I figure out who Anderson Ewart, who was on 1920 census, belonged to. Sarah Emma Homer's mother and 2 sisters also lived in Fayette County coming from VA also by 1920. I've been told there are no newspapers online for Fayette (and Kanawha) thus I assume my only alternative is to write to some libraries to see if there is an obituary for Sarah Homer unless there is someone on this list who could check for me. Does anyone know any of the other people on the above mentioned censuses? I've tried Ancestry, FamilySearch, Find-a-Grave, and WV State website for vitals. Thank you for your consideration and assistance. Shirley Houk Uniontown, OH

    3. Karen,   I checked the cemetery records for   Sanger but I did nit see either of their names. How., Iever, there is a swction in the  middle and none of the graves are marked.  This is where Nancy Treadway is buried, as is Rebecca Walton. Lucinda'a brother, Sylvester and his entire family are buried here as well.   Let me look thru my Treadway files to see if I have any pictures.   Anita   Got the package. ou are rthe greatest, thanks! ________________________________ . .  From: Karen Willey <hillhoney@snet.net> To: WVFAYETT-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Saturday, July 6, 2013 11:11 AM Subject: [WVFAYETT] Francis Asbury Settle and Lucinda Treadway F. Settle and Lucinda Treadway are my 2nd great grandparents.  I'm wondering if anyone out there has any photos of them, or any of their children:  John Sylvester Sette, Icie Belle Settle Rhodes, Rebecca Ann "Becky" Settle Walton, Mason Settle (Suttle), William Henry Settle, Thomas Edward Settle (Suttle), and Walter Settle. I descend from Rebecca and have one photo of her that I would happily share with anyone who is interested. Also, I have never been able to find a date of death for Francis, or find out where he is buried. Based on census records, I know he died between 1900 and 1910.   Lucinda died September 26, 1924 and is said to be buried in Sanger, so I assume that is where Francis is also.  Does anyone know anything more? ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to WVFAYETT-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. Greenbrier was one of the counties for which the 1810 schedules were lost when the British burned Washington in the War of 1812. There is a "substitute" schedule from the 1810 Personal Property Tax List published last year (http://genealogyresources.org/Greenbrier.html) David -----Original Message----- From: wvfayett-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:wvfayett-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of grampz Sent: Sunday, April 08, 2012 3:00 PM To: Anita McClung; wvfayett@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [WVFAYETT] 1810 census ----- Original Message ----- From: Anita McClung To: fayette county Sent: Sunday, April 08, 2012 5:38 PM Subject: [WVFAYETT] 1810 census Does anyone know where I might find the 1810 census of Greenbrier County? www.censusfinder.com/wvirginia2.htm Anita McClung Fayette County, WV ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to WVFAYETT-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to WVFAYETT-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

It is an open group and anyone can join. We post on a lot of families tied into the Huddleston's. Ours are out of Bedford Co., Virginia also. I looked through my info and I do not have any of the Huddleston girls you mention here.
