I am trying to find male descendants of Isaac Collison who married Cynthia Robinson and descendants in Clay Co from 1860 - 1930 -- time of the last census. I am working on Callison family and have DNA results for the Callison family who were in Bath Co at the same time as Isaac. Trying to find someone willing to do DNA test from Isaac to prove/disprove that they are a twig from the same Callison/Collison family tree. I have found some of Isaac's descendants in Ohio also but am starting with the largest pocket of them -- Clay Co., WV Thanks for any help. Marilyn **************Need a new ride? James R. Young, son of Robert Letcher Young, allegedly was murdered in 1915 in Clay County. He was married to Lizzie O'Brien. He was my grandmother's brother. I would be most grateful if I could obtain a copy of the article about this incident and the obituary as well as pics of these folks and their families or other clay county Youngs and Hamricks would be nice. Thanks for reading this. Caroline

Am wondering if divorce records are available for public view for Clay, Nicholas, and Webster Counties. This would have taken place about 1910-1920. If so, would be most grateful for a look-up. Caroline
Hi Rose, I have been trying to remember the answer since you posted on the other WV county list. I can remember my father talking about it maybe 50 years ago. My DeLorme maps shows Laurel Mountain to run along the Barbour/Randolph county line, the Barbour/Tucker county line and extend up into Preston County. It lies between Kingwood and Elkins. You will need someone from that area to tell you which part is referred to as Big Laurel Mountain and which part is Little Laurel Mountain. I am posting it back to both lists in case this helps trigger someone's memory. This should get you in the area at least. Please excuse for my crossposting, but I just wanted to do this one time. Over the years I've corresponded with a number of folk on the lists who are connected to my family in one way or another. My family is Thomas, from Jefferson Co., PA, by way of Clay Co., WV, where my dad was born. I have Reitz and Paxton family scattered here and there as well. Also, my Dad married Evelyn Shell while in Tampa, FL during WW2, when he was stationed at Drew Field as a medic in the Air Corps. Rev. Joyce Kilmer Thomas, born January 20, 1923 in Paxton, Clay Co. WV, passed away in Lake City Medical Center, Columbia Co., FL at 3:50PM on Friday, June 24, 2005 from complications with both bladder and a reoccurance of his prostate cancer. He was surrounded by his family, and died very peacefully. Keep us in your prayers, especially my Mom, as we make this transition in life. Mark Thomas __________________________________ Yahoo!
