***BUTLER and MAY**** My Great-grandfathers name was: William Mathew BUTLER - Born in Calhoun County - March 3, 1885 His parents names were: John B. BUTLER - Born in Braxton County - September 22, 1853 Margaret Naomi MAY - Born in Calhoun County - February 22, 1858 John B. BUTLER is my brick wall. My cousins have found John's mothers name was: Dovotha -?- (that is all we know) We do not have anything on his father. We have had several people look for us in Braxton County records to see if they find anything out for us. With no luck. It has been suggested that there is not a birth record for John, due to the fact they did not keep birth records at this time period. And he was born at home.
