    3. Hi Rhonda, According to the "Cemeteries in Calhoun County West Virginia", Lucinda Bailey died 19 Sep 1925. Lucinda was also listed in the 1870 Census of Calhoun County as a 38 year old housekeeper. Neat story though, but if it happened she apparently survived the incident. Bailey of Calhoun County. Harry told me this story, which I'd never heard before, and I'm wondering if anyone can confirm it or provide more detail. W.W. Bailey was in the Civil War on the Confederate side. One day during the war, Lucinda was boiling water in a big iron kettle for scalding a hog. Federal soldiers came to the farm to steal food, etc. Lucinda pushed one of them into the pot, killing him, and of course they killed her. I didn't find Lucinda's date of death in the course of my searches, but the birthdates of her children were before the Civil War. I'd appreciate any info. ===
