Tammy, Saw your post and had to butt in. William A. SAMPSON and Mary Bell KERBY were my g grandparents. I have not proven much of the info but I will give you what I have. Crystal, as I have not yet sent you the info I promised, here is part of it. I am sorry...I guess I need to dig out the original backups and reload them...the d'base is a mess. I will print out when I do and mail you a copy. Maybe we can do some of it by email. I have the marriage date of William A. and Mary Bell as 12 Apr 1885. Unfortunately, I do not have the source of this info documented. I believe they were more than likely married in Calhoun County but it is only a belief. Parents of Mary Bell Kerby John Wesley Kerby 1831 - 1913 Ruhama STALLMAN 1841 - 1901 All I have on William A. Sampson is that his parents were Harvey Sampson and Ann ? Their son, James Howard, b. 03 Apr 1905 d. 08 Jul 1969 was my grandfather. He married my grandmother, Eva Mae NUTTER b 18 Sep 1892 d. Feb 1983. I do not know the date of marriage nor the place but believe it may have been Calhoun County. James was her 2nd husband, her first being Bruce RIGGS. Eva is buried in the Rockland Cemetery, Belpre Oh. Grandpa is buried in Parkersburg but can't remember the cemetery. They had 5 children: Everette Duane Sampson 18 May 1929 Ronzil Truseloe(w) Atlee Max 26 Feb 1933 Charles Wayne 21 Nov 1934 (my father) Mary Arlona Kathleen Sampson 1937 - 01 Oct 1953 (This date is fact as she died on my first birthday) She too is buried at Rockland Cemetery. When William Sampson died, Mary Bell Kerby Sampson married Charles Clayton Nutter b 1865 - 1943, my paternal grandmother's (Eva Mae Nutter) father. Their dom was 17 Sep 1916. This info was provided me by a lookup volunteer for Calhoun County. His first wife, Ruhama Stallman, had died (date unknown). Mary Bell and Charlie had no children. This is not much; I do have more. However, it is late and I will need to go through my databases when I am not asleep on my feet. I have some info on James Howard's siblings, mostly stuff I have been told by my father and uncles. Aunt Vesta is the only one still living and she is in Parkersburg. Her husband was Orland Buchannan. She is up there in age and is not well. They say her memory is very bad so I am really unable to get anything from her but have asked an aunt to ask her son if I can at least see the family Bible when I next go to WV. They had 1 child, Romie (not sure if son or dau). That child died young and is buried in the Hur Cemetery at Hur WV. They adopted 2, a boy and a girl. Would love to correspond. I remember by grandfather's brother, John Sampson...his wife was Pearl (I believe her last name was Craddock...whe may have been a sister of Emma but just a guess). As I told Crystal, my database is a mess. I need to go back and reload my original files. By the way, I have some pics from the Hur Cemetery of some family headstones.
