Frances, I can think of two twentieth century men and one woman who might fit the bill John F. Kennedy I know there were many who did not like the man nor his politics but I think he "fit" the nation at the time he was president. The day he died I was five years old and to this day can remember my mother (who graduated from High school in 1947) sitting at our kitchen table crying after hearing of his death.
