J. Pancake, 67, who was born and reared in this county, died last night at 8:30 o'clock at his home, 401 Tenth avenue, Huntington. Death followed a week's illness of pneumonia. Mr. Pancake was well known in Huntington and has many friends in Lawrence county. He was president of the D. J. Pancake & Sons, real estate firm. After spending the greater part of his early life in Lawrence county Mr. Pancake went to Ronceverte, W. Va., where he was general manager of the Singer Sewing Machine Co. Thirty-five years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Ella Teays of St. Albans, after which he removed to Huntington to engage in the real estate business. In addition to his widow he is survived by three sons, Paul, John and H. K. Pancake all of Huntington and two daughters, Mrs. J. Bert Schroder and Mrs. Fred Hall, also of Huntington. Five grand children also survive. Funeral arrangements have not as yet been completed. "Ironton Tribune", Ironton, Ohio, Tuesday, September 25, 1928, page 2. D. J. PANCAKE--Sixty-seven years old, of 401 Tenth avenue, who died at his home Monday evening, will be buried this afternoon with funeral services conducted from the resident [sic] at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. W. J. Cocke, a retired minister, will officiate with Dr. M. L. Wood, pastor of the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, assisting. Burial will be in Woodmere cemetery. He is survived by the widow, three sons, Paul, John and H. K. Pancake, all of Huntington, two daughters, Mrs. J. Bert Schroder, and Mrs. Fred W. Hall, also of Huntington; one brother, Tilden Pancake, of Chinnville, Ky., and one sister, Mrs. James Carr, of Chesapeake. Active pallbearers will be Dr. S. E. Langfitt, Pat Toney, Abe Davis, Edgar Lowery, and James Lowery. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. H. A. Brandebury, T. W. Peyton, Dave Gideon, M. Broh, Judge H. Clay Warth, T. F. Barton, C. A. Hancock, O. P. Wheat, Col. E. T. Jarrett, Hon. Wells Goodykoontz, S. C. Chapman, Dennis McNeil, Charles R. Carder, J. H. Ford, ! D. H. Andrews, L. A. Stroder, Dr. Arthur S. Jones, A. W. Ferrell, J. M.
