RICHARD BLUE HEATH (1803-1873), m.1823 Sarah Elizabeth JORDAN (1810-1877). He was born in Berkeley Co. VA. She was also a Virginian. He lived first with his parents in Berkeley Co. VA but they moved to Cabell Co. about 1809. Richard and Sarah met and married in Cabell Co. WV. They moved with the rest of the extended family to Missouri about 1839-1840. Richard B. Heath owned 107.2 acres in Benton County, MO recorded 9/10/1844. His brother Jonas B. Heath bought the adjacent 40 acres a year later. There was a lawsuit filed by R.B. Heath 1846 Supreme Court of Missouri. Richard was suing for $2000 owed him by a E.H. Powers. It was settled in Richard’s favor in 1846. Richard B Heath and family moved on to Texas 1846. The next child born was born in Texas in 1846. They were living in Cass County, TX in 1850. Richard and Sarah both died at Red River, Hill County, TX and they are both buried in the Heath Cemetery, Hill Co. TX. Sarah E Jordan’s headstone reads she died 13 Feb 1877 ‘in her 67th year.’ Richard’s tombstone reads date of death as 18 July 1873. Richard was said to have been a brewmaster. A bio sketch of Richard Blue Heath’s 2nd son, John G. Heath stated the following: “John G. Heath was a farmer 3/4 of a mile from Siloam Springs, Hico Township, TX. He was born 14 Feb 1829, son of Richard B. Heath and Sarah Jordan. Richard B. (the father) dealt in (live) stock until 1836 when he moved with his family to Warsaw, Benton Co. MO. After remaining in this county for about four years he moved to Dade County, where he engaged in merchandising and farming. He lived in Dade County about 3 years and then moved to Red River County, TX. At the end of one year he left there and made his home in Cass County, TX where he remained 11 yrs engaged in farming. In 1853 he moved to Hill Co. TX where he spent the remainder of his life.” It goes on to state they had 13 children. I believe this account to have many inaccuracies as it does not match up with census records with dates, names of children given by Richard B, deeds, and other records. However it gives some good details. It goes on to say “John G. Heath, subject of this bio sketch lived on a farm in Virginia until 8 yrs old, and in 1850 went to California, where he remained for 3 yrs. In 1854 he married Sarah Kilgore, who was born in Virginia in 1839, her parents being natives of Virginia. To them were born six children: Walter (a farmer), Ada (wife of J.E. Porter, a farmer), Alice (wife of J.T. Gunter), an infant that died unnamed, William Henry and Jennie. In 1856 John G Heath moved to Bosque Co., TX and in 1863 he enlisted in the Confederate Service, and remained until the close of hostilities. He was stationed on the frontier of Texas, under command of Capt. Whiteside, Col. McCord’s regiment. In 1866 he moved with his family to Benton Co. Arkansas where he resided up to his decease, which occurred at 4pm on 15 Nov 1888, caused by Bright’s disease and consumption. There were but four or five families living on Lindsay’s Prairie when John G Heath first came to the area. He was the owner of 420 acres of land, besides town property in Siloam Springs. In politics he was a Democrat, and cast his first presidential vote for Buchanan. He was a prominent and influential citizen, and was interested in everything pertaining to the development and prosperity of his section of the county and State.” Their children were: Daniel Webster HEATH (b.ca1824) Born in Cabell Co VA John G.
