Yes, Tom I agree with you, and never doubted that she stayed in Culpeper until after her marriage in 1792. It looks like the CHAPMAN family arrived in the WV area shortly before 1802 with John L coming later abt. 1820. One thing Tom, I am not so sure that we know that Jane (DONOHO)CHAPMAN didn't come to WV. A prominent researcher stated in his book on Kanawha Co. that Jane was living here with one of her sons. I can't remember the author's name (poss. Charles Chapman) now, but if you want to follow up on it, I will try to run it down for you. I don't know what evidence that he had though. I remember thinking at the time that I couldn't verify, so I discounted it. I am not sure what to make of the fact that she was a neighbor of her presumed sister Mary JORDAN after Nancy's husbands death. You see I don't have any evidence that Mary belongs to this family either, and there are plenty of other inferences or none at all :>) to be made from this.
