After much research with land, vitals and census and tax list I have concluded that Moses Bates of Lawrence County Ohio was most likely the child of Daniel Bates. Moses had two daughters before he married Elizabeth Chinn. One was Margaret or Peggy and the other was Susan Bates who married John Adkins. I have looked at family relationships etc I still do not know where James Bates fits into the picture as the DNA from both family lines do not match. James lived in Cabell. Both families married Chinn relatives and lived near them in Wayne County. Would like to hear from Chinn or Bradshaw researchers as to a father of James or Daniel. My theory is John or Thomas. Any new leads on the father of the Bradshaw girls that married Bates?
