    3. Before Mr. Huntington bought the land to establish the city of Huntington as the western terminus of the railroad from Richmond to what is now Huntington, WV, the two major towns in Cabell County were Guyandotte and Barboursville. Somebody correct me if I am wrong....Guyandotte sat at the spot where the Guyandotte River entered the Ohio River. Now remember that this is 1800's. Rivers would have been main thoroughfairs. The Guyandotte River would have served as a route for MANY families living as far south in what is now WV as Logan....tying them with trade on the Ohio River. 2. It is not the Barboursville area.? You just cross a bridge on the Guyandotte River going north out of Huntington and you are in Guyandotte, along the Ohio River. -----Original Message----- From: Laura Loding <lloding@cox.net> To: wvcabell@rootsweb.com Sent: Tue, 20 May 2008 7:32 am Subject: Re: [WVCABELL] 1820 census districts I knew that it was in Cabell Co..
