    1. [WVCABELL] DEAD CABELL SITE

    3. Greetings Cabell, Can anyone tell me what the score is with the Cabell Co. Genweb site? Their hasn't been anything new posted since January 16th and the new "upgraded" site has very little genealogy stuff! Has the coordinator quit, on vacation, sick? Could they have lost interest and need to give it up? I know more than a few people that would gladly take it over and keep it updated. What is your opinion of the lack of interest in the Cabell site? It seems to be a site in name only! If the Cabell coordinator doesn't have time to "fool" with it, then they should put it up for adoption!!

    3. As far as I know Candie Freeman is still the coordinator and has been working diligently on all of the lastest upgrades. 3. Perhaps you are just having a bad day and should have read your email before posting to correct the "tone". Please keep in mind that the coordination of a genealogy site as large as Cabell's takes a LOT of work! Candee has done a fabulous job and continues to work her tail off on a VOLUNTEER basis I might add! If you are finding that difficult to believe, I highly suggest you check out some other counties in West Virginia and you will no doubt come to the conclusion that we are damn lucky to have her. The Caberll site outshines all the rest. 3. Candie does a fantastic job! She has very little help and puts in countless hours on her personal computer, at her own expense, for the benefit of all who are seeking information about their Cabell County heritage. It is very hard work....I know first hand because I attempted to help her with one tiny little portion of what she does and found that my eyes just couldn't take the hours of computer time required. My hat is off to this caring and giving genealogist who has provided information (and ask nothing in return) for those of us who now live far away as well as those of you who are fortunate enough to live in or near Cabell Co. I'm sure that if you contact her she will more than welcome your volunteering to assist in data input so that it can be put on line faster!!!
