The Athens District of the Ohio Genealogical Society will sponsor a genealogy workshop at the Bob Evans Farms Hall, of the University of Rio Grande, this Sat. Oct. 25, 2008. Registration from 8-9am, Morning sessions will include safely and effectively using the internet for genealogy research, and choosing a genealogy program, with demonstrations and Q & A time . There will be a 1.5 hour break for lunch at any of the local restaurants: Bob Evans, McDonalds, Subway, or the university cafeteria. The afternoon will start at 1:30, with a general over view of the Ohio Records system, followed by small groups led by researchers from: Athens, Gallia, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Pike, Ross, Scioto, and Vinton Counties. Sheri Pettit plans to be there to answer questions about WV and KY research.
