I'll be going up to PunchBowl, the National Cemetery, over the Thanksgiving weekend to try and find a couple of graves for a WV family. If anyone has a loved one interred here on Oahu and you want pictures of the grave site or flower put on their grave just let me know. There are several military cemeteries around the island and I have noticed several of our WV, KY and Ohio family members here. My Uncle's name is on the inside of the top left pillar. All of the 8 garden pillars are just the names of the MIAs from the Pacific Theater in WWII. My Uncle - Jesse Herbert Chaffin was a bombadier on a B-29 out of Guam and was missing April 15 1945. He'd only been over there 1 month and they had gone out the day before on the very first bombing mission of the 60th Bomb Squad and shouldn't have gone out again the night of the 14th/15th, but for some reason they were asked to go again instead of another crew. I never met my Uncle as I wasn't born until 1949, but I think about him alot and feel like I know him because of my mother.
