The first thing i found was a death entry for Annie Virginia Patterson b. 1895 - died 25 June 1967 in Cabell Co. WV listing her parents as James Shomaker and Virginia Pritchard. From there i looked at censuses: 1900 Cabell Co WV: Shomaker, James 38....listed as a widower Margaret 11 Maud 10 Charles 8 Evaline 6 in a seperate household i found James' parents: Shomaker, Charles 63 Sarah 59 Robert 31...son Eliz. 17....dau. Mary 16....dau. Bessie 14...dau. ANNA V. 5....grand daughter in 1910 Cabell Co. WV: Shomaker, Charles 73 Sarah 69 Robert 43 Bessie 34 ANNIE 14...grand daughter Listings at Ancestry say that James Albert Shomaker died on 16 Feb. 1906 in Portsmouth , OHIO Virginia {Pritchard} Shomaker , bn. 1869 in Lincoln co. WV, died 30 June 1895...she was the d/o Wesley Pritchard [ bn. 1844] and Jessica Charity Epling [bn. 1846]. Found no listing for Virginia's parents in the 1900 census - -can they be assumed deceased? and therefore could not take any of their grandchildren.? Go to www.rootsweb.com to trace the Pritchard and Epling lines....lots of info there - -4 entries shown if you put Wesley Pritchard and Jessica Epling in at the Family Trees Advanced area.
