Warren, If you contact the library in Huntington they will get it for you. There is a very small fee for their time and supplies but it is well worth it. I believe you can contact them on line to request obits. The Herald Dispatch has their obits on line but apparently Joseph's missed the cut off date or I overlooked it. I also searched Ancestry.com to see if they had it.....no luck there. The Joseph E Wheeler that was married to Lillian Garnet Hager wasn't born until abt. 1924 (he died 10 Apr 2000 at age 76). Joseph E. that is buried with Myrtle M. was born in 1885 and is the one that Charlotte found who died in 1947. All are buried at Woodmere. Joseph and Myrtle in section O and Joseph and Lillian in sec. K. Hope this helps a little. "Charleston Gazette" 4-30-1940, page 4 Huntington Girl Marries Robert Joseph Rappold MISS MARY THELMA WHEELER, daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. J.E. Wheeler of Huntington, and Mr. Robert Joseph Rappold of Charleston, son of Mr. and Mrs. R.A. Rappold of Montgomery, were married Saturday morning at St. Joseph's Catholic church, Huntington. High Mass Sung Rt. Rev. Monsignor James F. Newcomb officiated. The nuptial high mass was sung by Rev. John F. Sweeney. Miss Alberta Pfadt of Columbus, O., a cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a powder blue net frock over taffeta, with a matching halo of flowers. The bridesmaids, Miss Betty Wilders and Miss Dorothy Busek of Huntington, were similarly gowned in aqua and pink. They carried arm bouquets of garden flowers. The bride wore a white satin gown, fashioned with a tight bodice, full skirt with modified train, lace inserts at the waistline, long sleeves and a sweetheart neckline. Her veil hung from a halo of satin rosebuds. Her flowers were a shower bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley. Reception Held After a reception and breakfast at the Huntington hotel, the couple left for Charlotte, N.C. They will return to Charleston to make their home. Mrs. Rappold was graduated from St. Joseph's school and attended Marshall college. For the past two years she has been engaged in secretarial work in Huntington. Mr. Rappold was graduated from St. Joseph's high school and attended Belmont Abbey college at Charlotte, N.C., and Marshall college. Wheeler, 61, of Huntington, a brother of Mrs. L.C. Burgess, of Hinton, was killed by a train at Kenova Monday afternoon, when he stepped from a motor car into the path of an engine. He was a native of Hinton with 40 years of service with the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway, and was employed as a lineman.
