    3. Hi Sheila, Well, I'm just the messenger. I'm doing this research for the young couple who live in our carriage house. Nathanial SHEM Johnson moved in with us about 5 years ago and has since married Amanda. Wonderful young couple and a big help to us. (Long story there) Anyway, I working on their genealogies for them - they know that I'm an addict when it comes to genealogy!!! So I wrote down what they could both remember off the top of their head and started off!! Nate told me about his middle name of SHEM and that there were others back of him. The SAWYERS name is his mother's maiden name of course. She was Karen SAWYERS and is now Karen Johnson - Robert L. 'Rusty' Johnson is her husband.     3. I'm still searching for info about Maude Phyllis (RAY) EDWARDS. I'll tell you what I have and what I would like to discover. What I know is that Maude Phyllis RAY married William "Bill/Bim" EDWARDS early 1920's. I do not know where they married, but I do know that William "Bill/Bim" EDWARDS was living in Huntington, Cabell Co, WV at the time, and I believe Maude was also but am not certain. This couple had two children - William James "Jimmy Bill" b 1924 in Huntington and Corinie C. (per birth data at Courthouse but called "Connie" by my relatives) b 1926 in Huntington. Maude EDWARDS is listed in the Huntington 1926 Polk Directory, and her occupation is "elevator operator - Coal Exchange Bldg". I feel pretty sure this is the Maude Phyllis (RAY) EDWARDS I'm researching since I was told by a relative that Maude (w/o William EDWARDS) did work at the Coal Exchange Bldg as an elevator operator. William and Maude EDWARDS were divorced probably in the late 1920's, but I haven't located any divorce papers as yet. Their son, William James, was raised by his paternal grandparents, and their daughter, "Connie", stayed with her Mother (Maude) as far as I know. There seems to have been little to no contact between Maude and her EDWARDS in-laws after the divorce. What I'm trying to find out is who were the parents of Maude Phyllis RAY? - was she born in Cabell Co.? - did she have any siblings? - where did Maude and her daughter, Connie, go after the divorce? - did Maude remarry? - if so, who was her second husband? - does anyone know Corinie C. "Connie" EDWARDS? I have a lot of EDWARDS data, and I really want to fill in the gaps regarding Maude and Connie. Connie would be my first cousin. Can anyone help? Thanks so much. All of the 8 garden pillars are just the names of the MIAs from the Pacific Theater in WWII. My Uncle - Jesse Herbert Chaffin was a bombadier on a B-29 out of Guam and was missing April 15 1945. He'd only been over there 1 month and they had gone out the day before on the very first bombing mission of the 60th Bomb Squad and shouldn't have gone out again the night of the 14th/15th, but for some reason they were asked to go again instead of another crew. I never met my Uncle as I wasn't born until 1949, but I think about him alot and feel like I know him because of my mother.
