I have that my Wm was married to Elizabeth Dudley and their son Alexander is my direct descendant. Alexander married Emily Lawhorn (Lawhoun) in 1854 and conceived my grandmother Prudence (1872 Cabell Co. WV), if you know anything about this line let me know. When I grew up in Huntington, I lived very near Springhill cemetery and also the Huntington State Hospital. I spent many hours walking in the cemetery, sled riding....I loved the cemetery very much--still do as many of my Beuhring/Hawkins/Miller family are buried there. My mom volunteered at the Huntington State Hospital--running the bingo game for the patients--perhaps once a month....can't remember. But I do remember that she took me along as a teenager. Funny stuff now. The patients were allowed to smoke, but not to have matches. So it was always my job to light cigarettes for the patients ....I wasn't sure that I liked the job that fell to me. Hi List, My husband's grandmother died in the Huntington State Hospital in 1968. We are trying to find the exact date of her death and where she is buried. Does anyone know hoo to contact the Huntington State Hospital? We have heard that it is now called by another name, so don't know what name to give to directory assistance for the phone number. She was born abt 1892 in West Virginia and had married my Great Uncle Charles Clark and moved to Columbus, Ohio. She returned to Cabell County and was found in the 1930 census in the household of a Ann B Childers an appeard to a niece.Also in the household was a (Sam) Conwelgia Childers apparently a brother to Ann. Goldie had remarried to a "pappy" Huff. Anyone know of the folks sure would appreciate it much. Thanks.
