    1. Early Cabell Holton Family
    2. Hello, I am hoping that someone who has some Cabell material can do some checking for me please? I am trying to trace down the Holton familiy sometimes it was Holten and sometimes even Holt. There was a Nathaniel Holton who was murdered apparently after 1840 and before 1844. I would like to know what happened to him if possible. He married Saarah Pierson on April 29, 1841 in Cabell and the same day Belinda Holton married William Pierson I am wondering if these were brother and sister. I have the Fee book for Cabell County. There are several mentions in the book of money being paid to take care of Rebecca Holten. They seem to begin in about 1846 and continue through 1861. But I cannot find a Rebecca Holten on the Census. I am hoping someone can help me with these families. I have The Fee Book for Cabell and also the Will Book and Deed Book so have information from those but this family seems very hard to keep track of or find out about. They also married into the Braggs. Thanks so much hope someone else out there is also researching this family and can shed some light on these people. Have a wonderful day Pat in Florida (Its Very Hot and Dry Here)

They're both recorded on the 1840 census for Cabell County. These two men were born between 1801 and 1810, probably in Pittsylvania Co., VA. There's speculation that their parents were Spencer Sr. and Rebecca Rigney, or Abraham and Edith "Ipha" Dalton. Can anyone help me out?? Thanks in advance. Patrick Murphy [email protected]

    3. Funny I just picked up a copy of the marriage record at Cattlesburg, Ky for my grandparents who were married in 1915 in Cattlesburg, Boyd County, Ky. He was from Louisa and she was from Ironton. Both of their fathers had sent a note with them. The groom's father had given permission for the marriage because he was only 20 and the bride's father sent a note telling the bride's birth date as she was old enough to not need permission. (my grandmother was always closed mouth about her age as she was 25 when she married her 20 year old bride groom). The notes had been attached to the page in the register....wow is that fun!
