At the time I worked for the Huntington Housing Authority and my mother and I did the memorabelia displays for them. I am not sure if I saved her obiturary or not. 1. Kessler/Kesler
    2. Hello I am new to this list. I am searching for any information on the name Kessler/Kesler. Dr. Archibald Kenton (A.K.) first practiced in Alderson and Hominy Falls, WV. He later moved to Hinton, where he opened a small hospital. March 1898 Archibald K. Kessler, M.D., opened a hospital in Clarksburg, WV on the corner of Water Street and Washington Avenue. In 1904 Dr. A.K. Kessler decided to come to Huntington to build a second institution. The result was the Kessler Hospital and Sanitarium, which was located on the southwest corner of 4th Ave. and 5th. St. In addition to the hospital, Dr. Kessler started a school of nursing in that same year. In 1907, fourteen women were graduated from the school. After Dr. Henry Hatfield stepped down as governor of WV in 1917, he went into partnership with Dr. Kessler at his new location built in 1910 and opening in 1911, at 1st. St. and 6th Ave. It was also in 1917 that the main three-story building was added. The Kessler-Hatfield Hospital, was renamed Huntington Memorial Hospital in 1928. Dr. A.K. He ran the Gauley Summit Sanitarium with another brother Dr. Daniel Peck Kessler in Cowen, WV. He moved to Huntington in 1914 to be associated with the Kessler-Hatfield Hospital for a number of years. He moved his practice to Hamlin, WV in 1926 where he remained active until 1940 when he retired because of ill health. Kessler and his wife Delora Belle Kagy, had three children, Thelma Ruth Kessler, Arthur Kagy Kessler b1905 & d 1906, Terzah Elizabeth Kessler m. Wilbur Clair Dickson. In April 1928 he graduated elementary school and in May 1933 he graduated from Carroll District High School, Hamlin, WV. Any information at all about James P. Kessler would be appreciated.
