This display has been conducted basically at their own expense of time and money. Please be generous. Delicious food will again be provided by Jefferson Township Historical Society. Special Attraction!! This year's History Fair will feature a one-time only Special Attraction. This impressive layout is being displayed by the A. D. White Research Society, founded a decade ago to make public the family and regional files of the late A. D. White, one time supervising principal of the Avella Area Schools. The group has purchased the Wabash Railroad Station in Avella as a permanent home for its genealogical and historical holdings. The Station is expected to be under renovation by late fall or early spring. Al White, president, was the power behind the grant that is making this Center possible. Willard White, John Townsend, Bill Poeliot - all Board Directors - round out the foursome who have worked tirelessly on this project. The special attraction, which will be the focal point at the History Fair this year, will feature a life-like train layout, representative of the days when the Wabash Station, downtown, Avella, was in its hey-day. Organizer and commentator for the demonstration will be the talented Bill Poelict, co-author of "The High and Dry", which is the real story of the Wabash. Everybody loves a train! Don't miss this Once-in-a-Lifetime Display. IMPORTANT! Please notify Kathryn Slasor, Director, phone and address listed below, by September 1, of your intentions regarding attendance of lack of it at this affair. This is very important to assure accommodations for all. Kathryn Slasor, 742 Cedar Grove Road, Eldersville, Washington Co., PA 15021 Ph. 724-947-3983.
