Surnames: CHAPMAN Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/FCC.2ACE/2027 Message Board Post: I am looking for the parents of Jacob and Hugh Chapman (brothers) who came from Virginia to Fulton County, IL in 1840. Jacob was born abt 1813 and Hugh was born abt 1816 near Wheeling VA. I find that George and Nancy Chapman of Brooke County VA may be their parents. Some researchers of this family have listed the children that includes a Hugh Chapman born 1811 but no match for Jacob is found in this family. I first suspected that Jacob's father might be a William Chapman due to a naming pattern found with Jacob's children but now suspect that George is the father. I would like to exchange information with anyone reseaching the Chapman families of Brooke & Hancock Counties of Virginia 1800-1840 era who can shed light on my line.
