He was born on Nov. 12, 1926, in Clinton, W.Va., a son of the late Alexander and Myrtle Gosney Bowman. He was owner and operator of the Bovandera Club, formerly the Bil-Mar Club. He was a WW II veteran of the Marines. He was a Methodist by faith. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Eleanor Reeves Bowman at home; one son, Nile Douglas Bowman and his wife, Karen of Clinton, W.Va.; two daughters, Eleanor "Rossann" Yovich and her husband, Donald of Steubenville and Becky Baldauf and her husband, R.J. of St. Johnsbury, Vt.; one sister, Shirley R. Fluharty of Centerville, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, Alec, Carolyn, Charlie, Mary, and Sarah Bowman, all of Clinton; Braden Yovich of Steubenville; Veronica, Jeremy, Kirstin and Lane Baldauf, all of St. Johnsbury. Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the James Funeral Home, 1245 Main St., Follansbee, where services will be held on Thursday, March 20 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Harry Knight officiating. Interment will be held privately. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brooke County Animal Welfare League
