Julie, Thank you. I thought that was it. That would explain why my Great Grandmother was confused maybe about Virginia and West Virginia, but why Pennsylvania? I am begining to get a picture of the area in my mind and realize its all pretty close, so that must be it. Poor thing, I have a feeling that maybe she had never really thought about any of that until she was confronted by the census taker. I have no idea how educated she was. I am still hoping that someone in the Phillips, Keller or Douling might still be around and remember a relative talking about family and who married who. I am a optimist.
