Per all census I have come across (1860-1880), This family lived in Wellsburg, Brooke Co. when it was still VA. & continued to lived there after it became W. VA. I think John's parent were Andrew & Rachel Nelson. Per an 1860 census, Andrew gives his P.O.B as VA, in 1880 census, he gives it as W.VA. In 1880 census, he gives his parents born in Maryland.
