His book is still in print. I bought a copy of it at Barnes & Noble in paper for $15.95 last weekend. Makes great reading because he clarifies the relationships between world and local history. The reasons for happenings are there as well as the chronology of events. The book is a real eye-opener as far as behavior of the whites towards the Indians, etc. I am especially enjoying the book because I was born in central Pa., have worked all over WV, now live in the northern panhandle of WV near Steubenville OH. Eckert describes all the original settlement in the area and they are all place I am oft times extremely familiar with! Thanks for your reply and good luck with your search. May I ask your interest in these two guys? Why them?
