    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Ball Langfitt Campbell Farquer Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/FCC.2ACE/433.805.833.1.1.1 Message Board Post: I have some information, but I think it relates to the Langiftt Family. According to Joseph Ball's obit article 1876, his wife was Margaret Langfitt, born in Beaver Co., PA, married in May 1828. "She was second cousin of Pres. James K. Polk, and came from a family of strong military prepensities. Her grandfather was soldier in the Revolutionary War, her father in the war of 1812. She had two brothers in the Mexican war and two sons in the Civil War." Our Joseph Ball born in Lounden County, VA in 1803 became a member of House of Representatives in Iowa. He was a high profile person, but the articles just keep saying he came from the same family as Mary (Ball) Washington, and never saying who his parents are. Joseph's son (George W. Ball) states (in a letter) that the father of Joseph died when Joseph was 3 years old. That's all we know. I have some indication Joseph had a brother by the name of Stephen. I've even tried to follow the Ball line down from before Mary Ball, but there are just too many. We show Martha Farquer b. 1788-d. 1850
