I am also researching CALENDINE and allit's various spellings. I have a JAMES D. CALLENDINE b. @1833 married 10 Sept 1867 in Montgomery AL to Anna C. SPONG children listed in the 1870 Montgomery County Alabama Census were Anna and Augustus. Your posting was many months ago, but I hope this may help. I'd be interested in keeping in touch.
