I am searching for the Salisibury's and any connections, decendants, etc. My gggrandfather was William Henry Salisbury, b. @1821 in VA.......I believe his parents were John Salisbury and Elizabeth (Braker) Salisbury, but I am not sure of the spelling of her maiden name. Unfortunately I do not have much information to go on, but would appreciate your reponse if you recognize or connect to this line. Also, any ideas, suggestions, most welcome. Thanks. Rose

He died in 1837 is buried at Springboro Cemetery in Warren Co OH. Though I don't have good documentation I believe he may be descended from Joseph Allen bn in in 1743 in Hannover Twp, Lancaster Co PA and died March 24, 1817 again in Hannover Twp. I believe Joseph's father was Joseph and grandfather was William though again I have very little to verify this.

He is married by the 1860 census. His parents and his wife were born in PA. He and his wife (Catherine or Teresa) were 70 in 1910 and I can't find either in the 1920 census. I assume they died between 1910 and 1920 but I don't have a date yet. Any pointers in the right direction will be appreciated.

I wonder if you have learned anything about it yet. I was just told that it MAY have been between Clarksburg and Fairmont. I found my Cook Family in Marion County, 1900, north of Fairmont, so that would be near where I was trying to find Amos. They lived in a place called Galetin which no longer exists either. None of my usual map sites seem to show me anything.

Curiously, when I couldn't access the site quoted in the notification about your message, I went to Ancestry.com and tried to find it on the Hawley message board and the first post I saw was a Hawley family tree with Gertrude and her descendents on it. So thanks to you I found what I was looking for! Kaye

I have just checked the index of my Hawley, Halley Holley book that is at the publisher Heritage Books, Inc. awaiting print. I do not find Joseph H. in the index. If you could get him back a generation or two perhaps I can tie him in. When you are in the area the local library probably has census records and possibly birth records who may help you find the parents and grandparents of Joseph H. Best of luck and let me know if I can help! LauraHawley@msn.com

Hawley, b. roughly 1850-1855, who married, in 1876, my grandfather George W.K. Richey's sister Jemima Gertrude Richey (b. 13 May 1856, Independence, PA). Independence is just across the line from Brooke County, WV. and only 7 miles from the county seat, Wellsburg, where my grandfather lived after he was married. I know nothing of Joseph's family and would be happy to have his pedigree and be able to share it with his and Gertrude's descendents. I will be going to Wellsburg for a week starting July 4th. Is there anything I can look up for you in the courthouse? Best regards, Kaye Richey
