Hello David and Pam - Here are the Belchers in Boone in 1870: 1. Harrison Belcher, age 27 - living with Francis Meadows - son of Micajah & Malinda (Ball) Belcher-Sherman district 2. John A. Belcher, age 50, and wife Rebecca, 42, d/o John and Jane Belcher - died 12 Aug 1877; 2nd marriage to Nancy Harvey; children from first marriage John W. age 25 and Martha J. age 20 It appears that half the Belchers in Va/WVa had a daughter Rebecca. My poor gg grandmother Rebecca Belcher Stewart - I wonder if I'll ever find her. Her husband was Elias Stewart. They were from Mercer Co. moving to Boone in mid-1860s. They had 13 children. Rebecca died in an automobile accident at Racine in 1900 at age 72. I have the 1900 Belchers in Boone as well. You all take care.
