Found some old photos, and will be copying (sorry, no scanner on-hand), but need help w/id's & info on the whys/wheres. Several military photos dad sent home to WV family from WWII, & some faces look familiar but I'm unsure. He always tried to keep the "local" boys in touch and get together occasionally; kept in touch with Sig Olafson and the editor of the Coal Valley News, to see if any Boone Co. boys were sent over. Will provide copies to BCGS but would like to id if possible first. Some names I've never heard w/i the family history/stories. Appreciate any help. 1. McKINLEY WEBB & CODY TINCHER, Marfork, and HOBERT HEDDRICH, Beverly. Aunt Dana says she believes taken when dad (Mac Webb) boarded for a short time at Marfork while he was working for the mines there, before the war. He didn't stay long, at the boarding house, and soon, he and some others commuted back & forth in an old car. Believes these were his boarder/miner/friends. Dad & Cody are in suits; HEDDRICH/HEDDRICK wears a cap w/emblem I believe says "UNION TAXI." 2. Dad and CODY TINCHER, Marfork, WV. Photo taken same time, same outfits, background, etc. 3. MINTA BROWN FERRELL, 101st birthday (GGAunt Arminta/Minta, she lived to be 105; 2 photos) - "Our mother's aunt" meaning Nona Brown Webb's aunt, who was a sister to Thomas Soder Brown, Gordon, Boone, WV. 4. McKINLEY WEBB and LUTHER SPARKS, at Keith Ball Park. (Where is Keith? Dad looks to be 16-18, making this photo c1932.) 5. MARFORK COMPANY STORE, Marfork, WV (store & sign, by railroad tracks, man coming out of store, two others appear to be in suits, standing by) 6. ALVIN BROWN's mercantile/general store, Gordon, WV, c1941. He & wife Lillie (maiden unknown-Vickers) Brown ran the store into the 1960s/70s. Took it over from an elderly uncle, who ran it there for a long time before them. 7. BUSTER COOK & BOBBY WEBB. (Bobby was my uncle) 8. BOB WEBB & MARSHALL LINVILLE. (Uncle and gg-uncle) 9. EDITHA LINVILLE BROWN. (my gg-mother, taken mid-late 1930s). Sue Webb Bodishbaugh
