Hi Kristal, I don't have direct information for you at this time. But while I'm meandering though what I have you might want to check these links: http://www.rootsweb.com/~genepool/brookwm.htm http://home.fda.net/bbrooks/public_html/brooks.htm Janet Hager has done Brooks research as well. She may have published some of her research in the Kith and Kin. I will get back with you on this if someone else does not respond on the list. I am the daughter of Raymond McDilda, Jr.; grandfather, Raymond McDilda, Sr., don't know my grandmother's name. I have no information other than this. I'm looking for information on Emily Alice Holley, who married Andrew Lovejoy. They were married in the 1800's.Grandma Alice married A Black when grandpa Andy passed away. She lived into her 104th year. I believe she passed away in 1952. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please e-mail me at ANEW407981@AOL.com.Thanks in advance! Anita
Judy, Thanks for the message. It turns out that the family information was incorrect. Lacy R. Brooks died in a mine within five miles of where I live right now. He had a brother living in Upshur County. He was accidentally electrocuted in a mine in 1911, not 1910. He was buried in Southern Upshur County, and his brother and sister-in-law buried beside him. Strange how things turn out. I tracked him down in a book at West Virginia University WV and Regional History Collection. The book is a compilation of mine fatalities in the state. Ralph
Hello, I have Brooks in my family but I did not read the origional question. What was the query about the BROOKS family? There is an organized group of Brooks researchers and a "Brooks Historian" newsletter. If your Brooks are not related to mine I can give you resources to help find the answer and you will also learn about the hertiage of the Brooks family as a whole. Myra E.
