There are some Kinders, Elizabeth and a sister named Angie (?). Barker is on his mothers side. Her name was Florence Walker and she was from Ridgeview. My husband was Harry Harold "Pete" Ballard and he passed away last September. He was 57 and attended Foster elem. and Scott High School. Since his passing, information is a little harder to come by.

I don't recall if they accepted a check or if I used a money order. The changes I have found were mainly the additions. I use the census, marriage & death records to confirm what I can or change what doesn't seem to fit the facts. I do know p.51 needs work since that's my family line. Also, there is a whole series entitled "The Kith & Kin of Boone County" that adds branches to various families. These are publically available at the main library in Dallas, TX and in Madison, WV (as I understand). Look for those too. I think he was also known as James O. Byrnside. The Boone County marriage register gives his bride's name as Mary Jarrell on 1 January 1871. The information in the original register is wrong. His bride was Mary Elizabeth Epling. The name Jarrell was mistakenly repeated from the previous entry in the register. Oliver and Mary had William Oliver (1873), Mary Phoebe (1875), Carrie R. (1877), Nancy (1881) and another child who died before 1900. William, Phebe and Carrie had descendants. Nancy apparently died before 1900 and I have found no marriage or children for her. Oliver apparently died 1900-1910. Mary died after 1910. Sharon. I see that Oliver was the brother to my Grandfather Manasseh. The information I had from back in the 1950's was Oliver J. b. 1851 d. 1902 m. Mary Elizabeth Epling Jarrell Jan. 1, 1871, Boone County, WV When I go back to the Cultural Center in Charleston next week. I will try and search out some information on Oliver. If I find out anything I will post it. Thanks again, Kim When you check the original marriage records for Boone County for Oliver's marriage (available on microfilm at the Cultural Center) you will see that the name in the record says Mary E. Jarrell. However, it appears that the clerk just mistakenly copied the last name from the entry above. (Remember, this was January 1 and he may have had a bad New Year's Eve.) The death certificate for Mary's daughter Mary Phebe in Kanawha County on 27 May 1943 gives her mother's name as Epling. Also Mary Epling's brother William had land transactions with Manasseh Byrnside. So the name Jarrell on the marriage record is just a mistake. Hi, good to hear from you.
