Medical Center, Richmond, VA. She was a member of the Women's Air Corps, a World War II veteran and a member of the Rock Creek Church of Christ at Foster. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wattie and Mary Ballard Halstead. Surviving: grandson, Josh Halstead and granddaughter, Bobbie Jean Halstead, both of Florida; brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Deloris Halstead of Bloomingrose; sisters, Julia Kessler of Foster and Madlyn Perdue of Foster, with whom she lived; many nieces and nephews. Service was 2 p.m. Sunday at Handley Funeral Home with Minister Ray Beadnell and Minister Steve Cabell officiating. Burial was in the Ballard Cemetery, Foster.
