This is Almira with the Mullins children. Actually, two of her children died - Sarepta and Andrew Jackson Mullins Jr. Marshall was my g grandfather and married Lydia Artimisha Burgess in 1893 - 12 children. Aunt Lavalette married George Burgess and had one daughter Ruby Burgess Hicks. It's the Browning marriage that is in error. Now I'm wondering if there is an Elmira and an Almira. My Almira had the unusual middle name of Francis - spelled like the male version. I'll "go to digging". Burgess researchers in Logan Co. have commented on this error in Ronald Ray Turner's Seventh WVa Cavalry. The Mullinses and Burgesses were heavily aligned through numerous marriages amongst themselves. I've recently learned that my Jarrell line includes the Browns. My line goes William I> William II> William III> Nancy Brown marr. John Jarrell - my gggg grandparents. Does anyone have further info on the early Browns? I found the name Sarah Guy in one place and Sarah Unknown in another. John and Nancy (Brown) Jarrell had a son Jackson Jarrell m. Martha J. Coon and had a daughter Almira Francis Jarrell. Almira married Andrew Jackson Mullins of Blair in Logan Co. - my gg grandparents. On some sites I find that Almira is listed as remarrying after Andrew Jackson Mullins died in 1873. This is incorrect. I know absoultely that she did not remarry. I have relatives still living who knew her. I have pix of her as well. Thank you for the warning, Stan. That name does cause a reaction in me that is fierce. I feel pretty comfortable now that my ggg grfa Robert is the son of Ralph and Mary. However, in my whirl around the Caribbean, I would hate to come upon the name suddenly in an unprepared state. You all take care. Rick, While chasing around the Caribbean, don't be surprised if you meet some of your Stewart relatives also. But beware of being drawn back into your insatiable quest for those with given name Robert. On Jan. 25, 1769, Robert Stewart wrote George Washington from Jamaica, where he was serving as Comptroller of Customs. I understand, however, that this frustrated ancestor of ours (presumably our gg? uncle) never married.
